Scalp Micropigmentation

What is Scalp Micropigmentation?

Micropigmentation is a non-surgical solution for those who experience various types of baldness, hair thinning, and scarring on the scalp. Our skilled technicians apply natural pigments to the upper dermis layer of the scalp to replicate the appearance of natural hair follicles.  This procedure creates the look of a natural, more attractive hairline, a fuller looking head of hair, and makes scars less noticeable.

The treatment is suitable for all ages, skin colors, skin types,
and for all types and stages of hair loss.

What Steps Do I Need to Take to Start the Process?

Book a free consultation with one of our Micropigmentation Specialists to discuss goals, whether the treatment is right for you, and what to expect if you book a treatment.

When you decide to book a treatment, a medical history and scalp examination will be conducted, a photograph of the treatment area will be taken, and the practitioner will provide details as to what to expect during and after treatment.

A patch test of a few dots can be applied upon request to determine possible reactions.

You will also be given pre-treatment instructions with the details of the treatment, and the fee structure for payments.

On Treatment Day:

You may take over-the-counter paracetamol or ibuprofen upon arrival, if you wish.

Your technician will outline the hairline, or other areas that will be treated as discussed.

Once you are satisfied with the proposed outline, your treatment will begin.

During the procedure, natural pigment will be injected into the upper dermis layer of the skin.

Spacing is determined by replicating the natural hair follicles.

Your session may last up to three hours, so you are welcome to catch up with the latest movies, listen to music, or just relax.

The technician can take breaks in between when requested.

Once, your treatment is complete, you will have the opportunity to look at the treated areas from all angles, to ensure you are satisfied with the results.

You will be given after-care instructions and schedule follow-up visits.

What To Expect After Treatments

After treatment expect to see an immediate visible hairline, as well as some redness, which will disappear after a few days.

Initially, pigment dots will appear darker and will fade over the course of a month, then pigments will soften to their natural size.

Each subsequent treatment builds density, coverage, and color.

You can return to work the very next day.

The dots will scab over a few days after treatment.

It is important to follow the after-care treatment instructions, especially with regard to diligent sunscreen use.

Pigmentation will fade over time and future touch-ups may be required every 3-6 years, unless there is additional hair loss.

Most importantly, no one will know that this is not your real hair because the results appear natural and gradual.

Our treatments range from an average cost of $500.00 to $4,000.00, although scar camouflage may be less, or severe forms of hair loss may be more.

These are some factors that help determine the cost:

Skin Type:

If you have dry, sensitive, or thick skin, you may require additional treatments.

If have thick or dark scarring, you may require additional treatments or a combination of treatments.

Hair Density and Personal Style:

This will determine the number of hair follicles, colors, and combination of Micropigmentation treatments required.
